All Started 11 years a go
The Iranian American Cultural and Educational Center that was founded as a nonprofit organization in 2011 in Northern California, in the City of Sacramento. IACEC founders believe that Iranian-Americans are happier and more productive by keeping traditional Persian culture alive, and celebrating ancient rituals; which is why, IACEC has been since the beginning highly focused in hosting large events for the Northern California community. Every year, IACEC has drawn thousands of people to celebrate Yalda (Winter Solstice) and Nowruz (Persian New Year) from dozens of cities and towns in Northern California.
IACEC also recognized that Iranian-Americans in California and other US States, generally possess high levels of education and work experience in different fields. Our community members have achieved high-ranking positions, status and success in variety of fields including science, academic, finance, politics and entertainment. For that reason, IACEC is proud to make the most out of our cooperation with some of these intellectuals, and partnered up with many of them; as well as other members of the community, to provide educational and professional opportunities during the Professional Networking Monthly Meetings, that took place from the beginning of 2019 and later were suspended during the pandemic.
In order to further expand the organization's mission, the leadership of IACEC decided to acquire the only Persian-language radio station in Northern California; Bamdad Radio, which was previously established in 2008 and quickly became one of the most prominent media channels in the United States. In 2020, Bamdad Radio continued became the official communication channel of Iranian-Americans, as well as Afghans, Tajikistanis and Armenians living in the United States who share very similar cultural and linguistic heritage. Our Studios are located in the headquarter of the Iranian Scientific and Cultural Center in Sacramento. Our volunteers are located all over North America including Los Angeles, Arizona, San Francisco, Toronto, and Melbourne; and they produce a significant portion of the radio's programing. At the end of 2020, our volunteers had donated more than 11,520 hours of educational programing.
Today; Bamdad Radio, reaches out to an audience of approximately 200,000 individuals across the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe; broadcasting 24 hours a variety of topics presented by professionals and experts in the fields of arts, entertainment, sports, business and psychology amongst others; with 26 exclusive programs and 16 live programs being produced every week.
